MaryJane McNatt (Duff), 90, was born on May 23, 1921 in New Concord, OH to the late David and Ella Duff.
MaryJane enjoyed traveling to Egypt as a child with her parents doing missionary work. She spent most of her life growing up in the Youngstown area, graduating from Columbiana High School in New Concord and was proud to say she had a future astronaut in her class, John Glenn. She attended Youngstown State University until she answered the call of her country by working at a steel mill during WW II. Shortly after, she met her husband, Charles McNatt and they were married on May 12, 1949.
Five children followed, Charles (Kendra), Gary (Lynette), Russell (Bettina), June (Bob) Garey and Donna (Ron) Bevan. While raising the kids, MaryJane became very involved at South Arlington United Methodist and the East Akron Community House. She loved her pets, especially her cats Suzie and Doby. She was a proud grandmother of five, Julia, Joshua, Jeremiah, Shannon and Bryan); great-grandmother of three. She was very active, both physically and socially, greatly enjoying spending time with family and friends. She touched many lives and was loved by and will be missed by all.
MaryJane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brother, Richard Duff; sisters, Ruth and Betty. She is survived by her children; brother, David C. Duff.
Family and friends may call on Thursday February 9 from 5-7 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., A graveside service will held Friday February 10, at 12:30 PM at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens.
