Marylin S. Hefty

Marylin S. Hefty, 73, passed away on January 8, 2017. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to serving her family. She attended Kansas State University and worked as a business manager for her husband's veterinary practice while being a stay at home mother. Marylin loved to travel; her favorite vacation spot being Hilton Head Island, and had a love for antiques and art. She also loved watching sports, especially NASCAR. Marylin was a member of Suffield United Church of Christ. She had a knack for turning a short conversation into a meaningful life lesson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hefty; and her parents, Clyde and Helen Webber. Marylin is survived by her 3 children, Tim (Jane) Hefty, Ellen Hefty, and Lisa Long; 3 grandchildren, Scott and Brad Hefty, and Savannah Long; and sister, Patricia (Bill) Haynes.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 13, 2017 from 5-7pm and memorial service will be held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 11am with visitation starting at 10am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Akron Children's Hospital River of Life Fund. Special thanks to The Gables of Kent Ridge and Summa Hospice for their care.
