Maurice Taylor (affectionately known as "Moe") was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 3, 1966, to the late Matthew and Marcella Taylor. Maurice passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 55, with his family by his bedside.
Maurice accepted Christ at an early age at Greater New Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. This began a lifetime of service not only to the Lord, but to his family and whoever had a need for him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. Bowling was his passion, and you would find him bowling whenever the opportunity presented itself. He was dedicated to his bowling league and had the utmost respect for his teammates. They had become a part of his extended family, and this is where he gained the nicknames "MoGotti" and "Leftside". He also had a passion for music, cars, UNO, and sports.
Maurice liked the Cleveland Cavaliers, but loved the Cleveland Browns, win or lose, and was going to watch the game until the end. He spent this time enjoying watching the games with his family. Moe had a good sense of humor and was often seen spending time at the gun range.
Maurice spent his high school years at Collinwood High School "Home of The Railroaders". It was in 1988 when he met and fell in love with the love of his life Juanita "Ne-Ne" (Harrison) Taylor.
In 1993, Maurice and Juanita were married in Cleveland, Ohio. To this union were born three sons, Leon, Deonte, and Deangelo, and 1 daughter Caprice Taylor. His family was his joy, and he played no games about them. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Celebrations were common in the Taylor household for he and Juanita had an open-door policy for any of their relatives to come and stay.
Maurice was employed throughout his lifetime but spent over 20 years as a Patient Van Driver for The Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF). It was at CCF that he developed many friendships with coworkers and considered them family. Maurice was a dedicated employee until his illness prevented him from working.
Maurice joins in Heaven, Marcella Taylor (mother), Matthew Taylor (father), Pamela Taylor (sister), Michael Taylor (brother), and MaryLee Stoner (grandmother).
