Maxine A. Foster, 89, of Akron, passed away on March 8, 2024 at Summa Akron City Hospital. She was born on October 4, 1934 to Max and Marcene (nee O'Brian) Moore in Akron, OH.
Maxine was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her children.
On May 26, 1956, she married Russell N. Foster. Maxine and Russell lived in Akron for all of her life.
She was a member of Goodyear Heights United Presbyterian Church. She loved to play cards and spend time with her grandchildren. Maxine also enjoyed traveling and could not sit still for long.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Russell; children, Gwen (Mark) Romanchik and Jill (Doug) Batey; grandchildren, Kelsey (Scott), Tony (Sasha), Marisa, Jeff (Kristie), Zachary and Natalie; great-granddaughter, Nora; and brother, Ray Moore.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Karen and Maddie; and one brother, Gary.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) from 1:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Maxine's name to the Akron Ronald McDonald House (141 W State St, Akron, OH 44302).
