Maynard Lazar
Maynard Lazar, 84, of Springfield Twp., died on October 2, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 1, 1921 in North Braddock, PA to the late Charles & Emma (Grubb) Lazar. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant with the 309th Air Engineer Squadron, 347th Air Service Group and was a life member of Airport VFW Post 8975. Maynard later retired from General Tire after 40 years of service. He enjoyed Square Dancing, Bowling, Wood Working, Piano, Leather and was an all around multi-talented person. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Norman and Charles Lazar. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Pearl I. Lazar; sons, Daniel Lazar and Maynard Lazar II; daughters, Donna Might, Marsha (Kerry) Klinger and Emily (Lynn) Mitchell; grandchildren, Michael Might, Spencer Lazar, Eric Lazar, Staff Sergeant Matthew Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell and Alison (Klinger) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Brent, Devon, Jacob and Glen. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Dull officiating.
