Melissa Beth Briggs, "MiMi" or "Mickey", age 65 of Lakemore, Ohio, died on Sunday, August 12, 2018.
Mickey was born on September 30, 1952 in Akron, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Callahan.
Melissa had a long standing career working in the Akron community, General Tire for 20 years and as a Bailiff for the City of Akron for 20 years. The loves of her life included her daughter, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Melissa was deeply spiritual and loved the Mother of God, Mary. She lived rich in life by being very humble and had much gratitude for the simple things God offered.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea K. Briggs; her grandchildren, Bailey Cross and Derek Cross; her son-in-law, Michael Cross; her siblings, Barbara (Ken) Barber, Patrick (Lisa) Callahan, and Erin Callahan (Scott Herold); Melissa's former husband, Roger Briggs; her friend, Chris Snyder.
Mickey was an organ donor.
Formal Memorial Calling Hours for family and friends will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may come to a celebration of Melissa's life on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Dodd's Park, 2425 Lakeside Drive, Lakemore.
