Melissa Mae Cassidy

In loving memory of Melissa Mae Cassidy. She passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2021 at the age of 38. Melissa was born in Akron, Ohio to father, Mark Louis Cassidy and mother, Laura Knapp Cassidy Waterhouse. She was a lifelong area resident. Melissa was a survivor after months of battling with cancer. She previously worked as a manager at Giant Eagle, as well as GrubHub and Papa John's. Melissa loved spending time with her family and friends. She adored her daughter, Tajaa Lewis and her fur baby, Tom.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Lewis Cassidy and grandfather, Hook Lewis Cassidy. Melissa will be sadly missed by her daughter, Tajaa Lewis; her mother, Laura Knapp and stepfather Jeffrey Knapp; siblings, Mandy Marie Cassidy, Audra Jane Agnone, and Jason Paul Knapp; nieces, Shayla and Nafissa; nephews, Christian, Ayden, Colton, Jordan, Kolby, Kohen, as well as other family members and friends.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will have a Celebration of Life gathering August 7, 2021 at The Acorn Shelter, 2121 Barlow Road in Hudson, Ohio starting at 1:00pm. For those who wish to make donations to the American Cancer Society in honor of Melissa, it will be greatly appreciated.
