Melissa Traughber Collins
Melissa Traughber Collins, 94, entered into eternity November 19, 2004. She was born on July 6, 1910 in Springfield, TN to the late Guy Traughber & Lula Belle Barbee. She later moved to Indianapolis, IN where she studied cosmetology, married Clifford Collins, and operated a beauty salon for many years. She was a devoted member of the Mount Paran Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN until her move to Akron, OH in 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford and brothers, William Traughber and Paul Richmond. She is survived by her sister, Hiawatha Blanchard of Akron, OH; brother, Cecil Traughber; nieces, Charlene and Paulette Traughber; and cousin, Louis Williams, all of Springfield, TN; cousin, Kathryn Cunningham of Manessan, PA; nephew, Tony (Lynda) Blanchard; great-nieces, Tiffany, Jacquelyn, and Brittany Blanchard, all of Akron, OH. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. with visitation one hour prior.
