Melissa Ann Shollenberger

On July 4th, 2021, Melissa Ann Shollenberger, age 48, while surrounded by loved ones, lost her long courageous battle against cancer. Melissa is a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and colleague and was loved by everyone blessed enough to have known her. She was born on April 22, 1973 to Michael and Mary (Good) Shollenberger of Canton, Ohio. She graduated from McKinley High School of Canton and attended Kent State University. Melissa had a lifelong career in business management, both in the food and retail industry. She greatly enjoyed gardening, home decorating and spending time with her family and friends. There are no words to explain how deeply she will be missed or how great of an impact she played in the lives she touched. Whether she was sending greeting cards in the mail, decorating for the holidays, or preparing your favorite meal, Melissa was a soul to emulate, and her love and affection warmed the world.

Melissa is preceded in death by her father Michael Shollenberger Sr. She is survived by her mother, Mary. Her brothers Michael Jr. (Angela) and Mark (Janesa). Her sisters Melinda and MaryAnn (Shaun). Her children Sean (Courtney), Isabella and Olivia. Her furry companion Willow. Her grandchildren Caiden, Cooper, Corbin, and Cormac. Ex-husband Robert Dillon along with dozens of nieces and nephews, friends, and co-workers.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, July 11 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service to begin at 4pm. Cremation to follow at a later date.
