Melody L. Traugh

Melody L. Traugh went home to be with the Lord after a fighting battle with cancer on August 31, 2023 at the age of 61. She was born in Akron, Ohio on November 10, 1961 to Guy Britton and Geraldine VanMeter. She resided in Mogadore, Ohio for the last 23 years.

Melody spent most of her life as a nurse's aide and worked in ministry for 10 years. She loved talking to people about Jesus and she dedicated her life to helping others. She loved her church family and was a member of City Church AC. She loved to do crafts with family and enjoyed her time with them. Melody was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her other hobby was vacationing in South Carolina and golfing with her husband and friends.

Melody is preceded in death by her father and mother; sister, Vickie Light; sister-in-law, Robin VanMeter; mother-in-law, Nancy Traugh; and loving pets, Lucy and Junior.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Dave Traugh; children, Kasey (Mike) Matty, Seth (Allyssa) Traugh and Stephanie Traugh; grandchildren, Kloey, Makayla, Makenzi, Zeke, Savanna, Daniel and Allyssa; father-in-law, David Traugh, who was her good buddy; furry friend, Marley; as well as brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her two sisters, Linda and Joyce, who helped her daily as well as to Summa Hospice.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11am. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to City Church AC or First Baptist of Barberton.
