Melvin Lee Earlenbaugh, 68, passed away on May 3, 2021 due to multiple organ failure. He was born March 10, 1953 and graduated from Woodridge HS in 1971. God, family and friends were important to him as was being a Papa to his grandkids. He was very involved in baseball and softball both as a player and longtime coach. Melvin also enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, making wise cracks and golfing with his boys. He retired from Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare after 34 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy, and brothers, Randy and Gary. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years (+2), Connie; sons, Chris (Jenny), Brian (Lindsey) and Jay (Stephanie); Papa's kids, Nick, Emillie, Noah, Madison, Chaylee, Hannah, Zack, Luci, Austin, Olivia and Evan; great-grandson, Toby; mother, Marie; siblings, Jeff (Diane), Lori (Mike) Danford, Tammy (Don) Boettler and Deonna (Van) Siatras; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1-4pm on Saturday, May 8 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A private service will be held with Cherie Ross officiating. Cremation will take place at a later date. The family is requesting no flowers please. The family would also like to thank "The Team" at Summa and Fresenius for the excellent care provided.
