Merrill O. Morton

Merrill O. Morton, 87, of Copley, went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2006 while at the Hospice Care Center. He was born July 14, 1918 in Parma, Ohio to the late Edwin L. & Minnie (Behner) Morton. Merrill worked as a driver in the Dairy Industry and attended The Chapel for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Merrill D. Morton; daughter, Charlotte Morton; brothers, Norman, Dudley and Weston; daughter-in-law, Nancy Morton. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leora M. Morton of Copley; daughter, Donna (Andy) Sanyo of Copley; son, Richard N. Morton of Akron; brother, Don (Velda) Morton of Medina; sister-in-law, Edith Morton of California; 10 grandchilren and 10 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Dull and Rev. Curt Thomas officiating. Private interment will take place at Beebetown Cemetery in Brunswick.
