Michael A. Cobb, 54, passed away January 20, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Ravenna High School, and the National Institute of Technology. Michael was employed for 23 years at Hanson Pipe and Product as a Robotics Technician. In his free time he enjoyed cooking for his family, riding his Harley, NASCAR, traveling to Florida, and spending time with his brown dogs. Michael also belonged to the Ravenna Moose Lodge #1234. Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ruth Cobb; and good friend, William Tinsley. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Janet; children, Courtney and Marcus Cobb; brothers, C.R. Butch (Posie) Cobb, and Hoby Cobb; sisters, Cheri (Thomas) Wagle, Icie (Alberto) Guzman, and Sue Poling; mother-in-law, Grace Roberts; brother-in-law, Hank (Emily) Roberts; nephew, Michael Roberts; niece, Megan Roberts; and many other loving family members. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 24, from 2 to 5 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 25, at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church at 12 pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior. Pastor Curt Bissell to officiate. Interment to follow at Tallmadge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue at www.CBRRescue.org.
