Michael Phillip Aus

September 30, 1969 — July 11, 2020

Michael Phillip Aus passed away on July 11, 2020. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 30, 1969, and raised in Lincoln, Montana and Colorado. He was the son of Phillip Aus and Jane Jeppe. He attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado. He lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chicago, Illinois and Akron, Ohio.

He was married to Christy Halvorson and they had one child, Zachary.

Mike was a computer programmer and worked for Bankers Life and Casualty, which became Conseco, in Chicago. He moved to Akron and worked for Bridgestone Firestone for over fifteen years. He loved the challenge and working with something different every day. But Mike's greatest love was animals. He volunteered for the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue group, and adopted three rescue Boston Terriers. His last Boston Terrier wouldn't leave Mike's bedside and died the day before Mike.

Mike was the very best uncle and brother; he was such a large part of his family's life, and so loved by his nieces and nephew and his great nieces and nephews. He never missed a birthday or holiday and was thoughtful, kind and generous.

The love of his life, Christine, became his fiancee earlier this year. They loved to spend time together and filled their lives with love, friends and laughter. He died too soon – they had such wonderful plans for the future.

Mike is survived by his fiancee Christine Saul, son Zachary Aus, his sister Del Rae (Greg) Grose, nieces Tasha (Chris) Endicott and Gianna Grose, his nephew Carl (Amanda) Grose, Great nieces Serenity Endicott and Hope and Lily Grose and great nephews Maxwell and Zander Endicott, as well as many other relatives.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in his name to the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue.
