Michael T. "Mickey" Charley
Mickey Charley, 66, of Suffield Twp., passed away April 8, 2007. Mickey was born September 9, 1940 to the late Mike and Mary Charley. He retired from Goodyear/Hayes Lemmer after 38 years of service. For the last seven years, he loved getting up every single day to go to work at Chenoweth Golf Course; a place that became his "second home." He enjoyed taking yearly golfing trips to South Carolina with his buddies. His family, friends, and neighbors always looked forward to the big parties he threw on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Mickey always had a supply of popsicles on hand to give to his grandchildren and the neighborhood kids. Above all, Mickey will always be remembered for generosity and concern for others, and for living every single day to the fullest. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Charley and granddaughter, Catherine Charley. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Catherine; children, Bret (Maria) Charley and Lisa (Jim) Vardon; brother, Paul (Danielle) Charley; grandchildren, Anthony, Nicolette, and Callie Vardon and Brittany Charley; numerous other relatives and friends. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Visitation on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. followed by 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd.
