Michael David Shawhan
Michael David Shawhan, 63, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2013. He was born in Barberton on October 27, 1949 to the late Richard and Mary Shawhan and he was a lifelong resident of Akron. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1967.
Mike retired from the City of Akron where he served as a chief union steward. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play euchre. He was an excellent provider for his family.
Mike will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Denise Shawhan; sons, Kyle (Anne) and Brian Shawhan; siblings, Patricia Shawhan, Richard Shawhan, Jr., Judith (Samuel) Grasinger, Dennis (Tamela) Shawhan, and Thomas (Carol) Shawhan; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kalym, and Kylie Shawhan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 15 from 4-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service with Rev. Dennis Shawhan officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
