Michael G. Cladas

Michael G. "Thumper" Cladas, 74, passed away on December 10, 2013. He was born on January 7, 1939 in Akron to the late Gust and Harriet Cladas. Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a truck driver for the former Consolidated Freightways and Teamsters Local 24.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years Sharon (Simms) Cladas, daughter Janie (Robert) Smoley, son Michael (Shelley) Cladas, daughter Heather (Chris) Wyatt of Bessemer, AL, brother Ronald (Mary Jane) Cladas of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren; Bobby, Alexandra, Justin and Matthew, other in-laws, nieces, nephews and relatives. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Marissa Smoley. The family wishes to thank Michael's caregivers and aides; Kelly, Kristin, Ray, Dean, Amy and Jennifer.

Friends and family may call 2-4:30 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44303. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm immediately following visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Debbie's Dialysis Fund, Cruising for a Cause through the funeral home.
