Michael Owen Gallagher, 75, of Akron, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023. Michael came to know Christ in his final days and is now in Paradise.
Born in Akron on November 30, 1947, Michael spent several years working in the shipyards in Lorain, OH before working as a custodian with Wooster City Schools. He was a quiet, smart man with a great sense of humor and an interest in following politics and sports. He had several beloved dogs over his lifetime, including his most recent dog, Sonic, who kept him company over these last years.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary Owen Gallagher and Mary Catherine Lavery; and brother, Brian Gallagher.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Molly Judge (John Communale), Tim (Sheri) Gallagher, Mary Kate Bush, Shannon Parker, and Helen (Vince) Zampelli; and many special nieces and nephews.
Per Michael's wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace House Akron, 475 N. Howard St, Akron, OH 44310 or Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
