Michael Allen "Mike" Gant, age 52 of Kent,Ohio, formerly of Ravenna, died on February 28, 2023 after long illness.
He was born on May 12, 1970 in Cuyahoga Falls, the son of the late John and Carol (nee Skidmore) Gant.
Mike was a graduate of Kent High School and while at Kent he was their star lineman. He then attended KSU and also played for them as well. Mike became a machinist and worked for several companies.
Some of his hobbies were fishing and grilling.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Carrie Flory, whom he married on February 20, 2010; his seven children, Andrew (Kadence Vinson) Flory, Alecia, Athan, Austin, Dominic, Jena and Summer Gant; his granddaughter, Keeleigh Flory.
Mike's siblings also survive, Robert, Shawn, Tina, Kimberly, Carol (James McDowell), Gabrielle and Melissa (James Clement); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn his loss.
Memorial Services will be held at Victory Chapel 32 West Bellisle Drive, Akron, Ohio 44319, on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
