Michael L. Blair

Michael L. Blair, 58, of Akron, suddenly passed away June 16, 2012. He was born in Akron, OH on September 2, 1953 to Wilbur and Rosalee Blair. For the last 10 years battling with cancer, Michael's strong faith never waivered, he loved working in his yard, spending time fishing, watching the Steelers beat the Browns, but most of all, spending time with his family. He was a machinist for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Billy and Carl; sister, Sharon Simmons. Michael is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 12 years, Cindy; son, Phillip (10); daughters, Kelly (Ryan) Smeltz, Melissa (Jason) Bowman, Brittany (Stephen Price); grandchildren, Nathaniel and Hunter; mother, Rosalee; brother, Dennis; sisters, Juanita, Janet and Roseann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Lou Hawkins; brother-in-law, Rick Hawkins; sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Tom) Hicks; many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 19, from 4-7 PM at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd., Akron, 44312, where funeral services will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Don Rohrbacher officiating. A private burial interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.

Family suggests memorials be made to the Michael L. Blair Benevolent Fund at any First Merit Bank.
