Michael L. "Motor" Smith
Michael L. "Motor" Smith, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2008. Veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. Preceded in death by son, Michael L. Smith, Jr. Survived by his loyal companion of 37 years, Edith A. Smith; sons, Phillip "Ray", and James Smith; stepdaughters, Jackie Lynn, Alexis "Tool Box", and Madison; his dog Champ; brother, James Smith; sisters, Nancy Walker, and JoDee Smith; and many nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11 to 12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12 p.m., with Rev. Matt Stull officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
