Michael W. Lanny

Michael W. Lanny, 81, of Akron, passed away on March 18, 2025 at Akron City Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1943 to the late Patrick and Mildred (Herr) Lanny. Michael was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps and proudly worked as a factory worker for Goodyear for 38 and a half years. He was a member of the Army/Navy Club. He played the guitar and the 6 sided harmonica and had a general love for music. Michael will be fondly remember for his ability to play jokes and his overall sense of humor.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Deborah (Whobrey) Lanny; his daughter Tina (Charlie) McIntosh; his grandchildren Shelby (Tyler) Morgan, Mia McIntosh; great granddaughter Lillian Morgan "Lilly Belle"; sister Debbie (Dennis) Christman; brother-in-law Craig Whobrey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. The burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
