Michael Joseph Putra

Michael Joseph Putra went Home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2021. He was born September 29, 1937 in Yugoslavia to Anton and Eva (Loncar) Putra. The family emigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled in Ohio. Michael graduated from Barberton High School in 1957. He married Mary Jane Grizer in 1958 and moved to Suffield, Ohio in 1964 where he raised his family. Michael worked at Goodyear Tech Center for 36 years. He loved to spend time playing cards, going on vacation, riding bikes with his grandchildren, going to baseball and softball games and gardening.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter (and caretaker), Judy Putra Freeland; sons, Bill (Chris) Putra, Emil Putra;14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary "Jean"; daughters, Susan (Randy) Killey, Karen (Paul surviving) Kern.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Mogadore, Ohio 44260. The Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Due to Covid-19 concerns please expect to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. There will also be a memorial picnic in Mike's honor later this summer. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Mike's name to St. Joseph Church or to the charity of their choice.
