Michael Root

Michael L. Root, age 74 of Akron, Ohio, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Akron City Hospital at 8:18 AM.
He was born on January 5, 1942 in Harrisville, WV, the son of the late Lloyd and Roberta Davidson Root.
Mike was a 1960 graduate of Timken High School in Canton. He went on and became an architectural engineer and retried from Louis and Perry and Associates in Wadsworth. Mike loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include his children, Patricia Ann (Rick) Lincoln, David Scott (Marlene) Root, and Sharon (Bobby) Rippl; his companion, Janice Greenlee; his grandchildren, Joshua, Michael Dean Root, Jacob and Jared Rippl; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Dawn Root; and one sister, Barbara.
Other than his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Rosalie, and one brother, Dean.
Memorial services will be held at 6 PM, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where family and friends may visit from 4 PM until the time of the service.
