After a prolonged illness, Michael Edwin Wolfe, 53, succumbed to complications of kidney failure on March 31, 2021. He was a fighter and lived longer than expected. Mike was born in Akron on August 8, 1967 to the late Wendell "Wendy" and Marlene Wolfe and was a lifelong Akron resident. In his youth, he was a Boy Scout and under the guidance of his grandfather Willis Wolfe Sr., a lifelong Scout leader, Mike was very proud of achieving Eagle status. He had many interests, including Indians baseball, Star Trek, Star Wars, and visiting Cedar Point. Mike's family was so important to him. He loved going out to eat with loved ones and playing board games. Mike maintained his sense of humor despite his illness. Although his mobility was limited, whenever anyone suggested playing a game Mike responded, "How about Twister?" Mike had a deep faith in God and loved his church family at Calvary Apostolic Church.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Dillon.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Lori (Gary) Sprang, John Wolfe (Bernadette Fox), and Nancy (Brian) Jones; nieces and nephews, Nikki, Aaron, Ellen (Andrew), Sea, Cody (Jennifer), Tony, Isaiah, and Eddie; great-niece, Alice and great-nephew, Derek; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike had many friends including lifelong friends, Jon Putnam and Brian Riffle and special friend, Lynn Pritt.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2693 Nesbitt Ave, Akron, OH 44319.
