Mike Frasher, age 68, of Massillon passed away December 11, 2023. Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kari Frasher (Waters); his children, Michael (Micheala), Marena, Chase, Kayle, and Melissa; his sister, Julie Yoak (Willy); nephews, James and Chris Thomas; cousin, Betty Salyers; his 5 grandchildren; and mother in law, Ruth Waters. He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Frasher; brother, Clyde Capps; sister, Ruby Thomas; and father in law, Harold Waters.
Mike Frasher was born August 16th, 1955. He grew up in Barberton and graduated from Coventry high school in 1973. After high school Mike began driving truck and never looked back. Anyone that knew him knows that there wasn't anything that he couldn't drive or hadn't hauled over the years.
Along with trucking, Mike enjoyed boating, camping, sitting around a fire with friends, and being surrounded by his family. In his younger years he had many muscle cars and enjoyed racing, all while trying to not get caught. He also loved a nice Harley as well and spent many many years on a bike. He spent most of his last several summers at his camper enjoying the outdoors and being around others. He recently got to reconnect with many friends from his high school years and loved going to lunches with the guys and even got to attend his 50 year class reunion back in September. Mike and his family will be forever grateful for the lifelong friends and our camp family for all the love and support received while going through this journey. He will definitely be missed by everyone around him.
The family would also like to give a huge thank you to Don Martin for always standing by our family during this journey. There hasn't been a day that he didn't check on Mike or his family while dealing with his illness. He stayed with us daily in the hospice facility and made sure everyone was taken care of. We will be forever grateful for having you in our corner.
Details for a Celebration of Life will be announced shortly after the new year. Friends and family will be invited out to join Mike's family in celebrating and remembering all the things he got to do during his time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Grace House Hospice Center of Akron where Mike spent his final weeks, or to the Christian Children's Home of Ohio that uses horse based therapy for kids in our area.
