Mildred A. Cessna
Mildred A. Cessna (Nanny) born January 10, 1915 passed away peacefully August 11, 2010.
She was so loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Linda (Kevin) O'Hara of Kansas, and David (Joanne) Quillen of Florida; great grandchildren, David (Heather) Quillen, and Angela (Jeff) Hetsch; great-great grandchildren, Isaac, Isabelle, and Emma Rose.
Mildred, moved to Ohio in 1978 to be close to her only daughter and family. A former Baltimore, MD resident, she was strong in her faith a member of the Mogadore Christian Church and looked forward to the day she would go home to be with her Father God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Cessna; daughter and son-in-law, Emma (Toots) and Melvin Quillen; and parents, brothers and sisters.
Nanny was a good at handwork. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, cooking and had a green thumb. She had a heart to help children in need. She loved hymns and knew every word to every hymn by heart. She spent time with her all her grandchildren and when asked never said no or that she was too tired to spend time or run around with any one of us. She was fun. She will be missed by all.
A huge thank you to the staff at Heather Knoll. You have been like family to us and to Mildred. Your loving care and kindness gave her much joy…..you all have been angels. Thank you to Hospice of Summa for your gentle loving care. It was very meaningful to us.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, at 11 am at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
