Mildred D. Peacock (Parrish), 90, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013. She was born on October 7, 1923 in New Brighton, PA to the late Ferdinand and Lilia Parrish.
Mildred was a very special caregiver to family and friends, a true friend to all. She loved to play cards, fish, play golf and watch baseball and football. She loved to win (graciously?) Mildred graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School with her Cosmetology license and worked with her sister, Velma, for many years until she had her own shop in Stow. She will be truly missed by her family and dear friends. Her favorite thought to live by was 'Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.'
Mildred is survived by daughter Linda (Thomas) Flanagan, son Karl (Yan) Peacock, grandsons Ryan (Darcie) Peacock and Jared Peacock, great grandchildren; Molly, Kipton and Bryson, sister Geneva (Sidney) Huntley, niece Susan (Larry) Butler, nephews Ron (Pat) Huntley and Bob (Nancy) Huntley and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Karl J. Peacock, brother-in-law Don Peacock, sisters; Viola (Don) Allgood (Charles) Curtis, Velma (Roy) Wise and Edith (Edward) Wood and niece Deb (William) Wood Kampa. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Stow Cemetery on Kent Road in Stow, Ohio.
