Mildred M. Carroll

Mildred M. Carroll, age 94, longtime resident of Ellet, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. She was born on August 30, 1918 in Akron, OH to the late J.C. "Bud" and Emma Hughes. Mildred operated the preschool department for Akron YWCA and taught Sunday School for many years at her church, Ellet Grace Brethren Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas M. Carroll, Sr.; daughters, Cheryl Sodergren, Connie L. Farmer and Mitzi Jean Boner; sister, Mary Doris Harper. Survived by her son, Thomas M. (Joyce) Carroll, Jr.; sister, Loraine Beard; sons-in-law, Richard Sodergren, Mike Farmer and Gordy Boner; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305 officiated by Pastor Jonathan Carey. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Final resting place will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's honor to Ellet Grace Brethren Church, 530 Stetler Ave, Akron, OH 44312.
