Mildred Simmons
Mildred Simmons, 93, of Akron, passed away April 21, 2008. Mildred was born February 2, 1915 in Jessup, Pennsylvania. She was a longtime member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church where she volunteered in numerous ways. In her free time, she enjoyed hiking, traveling, bowling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; grandson, David Law; great-grandson, Jonathan Rozumalski; three brothers, and two sisters. She will be deeply missed by her children, Barbara Pringle, Vivien Law, and Pete (Caroline) Simmons; grandchildren, Denise (Bob) Leasure, Tricia (Ron) Rozumalski, Paul Simmons, and Matthew Simmons; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Benjamin; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Pebble Creek Nursing Home for all the care given to Mildred. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 847 Crouse St. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
