Mildred Wolf
Mildred Wolf, 97, of Akron, went home to be with her LORD on January 24, 2005. She was well prepared for this transfer of her spirit from this life to eternity with CHRIST, and the family rejoices in the life she lived. Mildred Wilkinson was born in Ulrichsville, Ohio on August 5, 1907. She moved to Akron in 1929, marrying Dick S. Wolf on December 24, 1929 (Christmas Eve). Born into the Christian Church in Ulrichsville, she later transferred her membership to Meade Avenue Christian Church and then to High Street Christian Church in 1952. Extremely active in church, she taught Sunday School for over 50 years until her eyesight failed her. She also helped in the church library for many years and was an avid reader. Mildred worked at Kurtz Lumber and Carter Jones for over 20 years. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Dick S. Wolf in 1975, daughter-in-law, Pat Wolf in 1986, son, Duane Wolf in 2004, and two sisters, Irene Shilan and Daveinna Knapp. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Jerome (Beverly) Wolf of Silver Lake and Jay (Phyllis) Wolf of San Marino, CA; grandchildren, Kathleen (Allan) Jones of New Hampshire, James (Mary-Ann) Wolf of Silver Lake, Loreen (Bill) Young of Stow, Eric (Heidi) Wolf and Todd Wolf of Akron, Kevin (Ginny) Wolf of NC, Keith (Carole) Wolf of GA, and Kim Fleck of CO. She also leaves 26 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at High Street Christian Church, 131 S. High St. in Akron with Pastor Thomas Madden officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the High Street Christian Church in Mildreds memory. Thank you Mildred for your loving care and your efforts on behalf of the church. You are an inspiration to all you leave behind. A special thanks to the staff of Middlebury Manor and Becky from Hospice for the loving care of Mildred.
