Mildred Y. Walck

Mildred Y. Walck, 94, of Akron, passed away January 3, 2013. She was born in Blackstone, IL on September 10, 1918 to the late Ray and Mae Walker. Mildred worked retail most of her life in the Akron area. She loved attending Tallmadge High School volleyball games where her son, Jeff, was the varsity coach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; sister, Evelyn Freeman. Mildred is survived by her son, Jeff (Paula); daughters, Pat (Dave) Stierl and De Devoir; grandchildren, Ryan Walck, David (Lisa) Stierl Jr., and Kimberly (Jerry) Brownell, Tiffany Devoir; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Tiffany Stefanko, Juliana Stierl; great great-grandson, Joey Smith.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, January 8, from 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
