Millie L. Esque, 70, of Akron, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on October 1, 2011. She was born in Akron on January 3, 1941. Millie worked for the All American Soap Box Derby for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed flower gardening, camping with her family, and her French Bulldog Bronson. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 50 years, John Esque; daughter, Vickie (Clarence) Uher; son, John Esque (Gail); brother, Walter (June) Root; grandchildren, Jillian Esque (Adam), Josh Esque, and Michael Uher. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
