Mollie M. Salter, 70, of Akron, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 from complications of Stage 4 Melanoma Cancer. She was born in Old Town, VA on May 12, 1943 to Walton and Irene Leftwich.
Mollie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid sports fan, loved playing bingo, enjoyed family gatherings and taking off on road trips with her husband to gamble. Mollie made many friends over the 39 years as a waitress at Duffy's Restaurant. Her family, friends and customers are already missing her terribly, but are happy she has peacefully went into the arms of the Lord, looking down upon all of us from Heaven. A special thanks to Dr. Patel and his staff for taking care of mom during her illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walton.
Mollie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul; mother, Irene Leftwich; children, Tim (Dorene) Sees; Kim (Mark) Sokol; Penny (Brian Lukinac) Sees; David Sees (her son and best friend); step-daughter, Jeanett (Andrew) Braxton; grandchildren, Pepper and Lucas Sokol, Kylie Sees, Heather (Jason) Diegel; step-grandchildren, Johnathon, Jazmine and Darryelle.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 30, from 4-7 p.m. and Friday, May 31 from 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sherman Bailey officiating. Interment at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery, Minerva, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church Building Fund.
