Mona Ruth Bonner

March 30, 1939 — January 30, 2024

Mona Ruth (Day) Bonner, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Wayne Edward Bonner, with whom she was blessed to share 51 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her loving daughter, Cynthia Klockenga. Her unconditional love for family was immeasurable.
She was born on March 30, 1939, in Elk, West Virginia, to the late Theodore and Nellie Day. She was number six of eight children and she was born on her daddy's birthday. She was smitten by the fact that he called her his birthday present. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Pam (Dan) Torson of Bolivar, and Lisa (Ken) Czerwieniec of Medina; and Cindy's husband Mark (Tammy) Klockenga of North Benton. She was Nanny to all of her eight grandchildren who will miss her so much including Ryan (Rebecca), Cara (Caroline), William (Aleks) Courtney (Ryan), Craig (Erin), Caylee, Katrina, and Karl; and bonus grandchildren Summer and Maria. She loved that she got to have great-grandchildren as well including Wyatt, Miles, and Ellie and bonus great-grandchildren Danny, Mallory, Ruby, Jovie and Adelynn.
She was preceded in death by five of her siblings: Fred, Kathryn Murphy, Donald, Jim, and Judy Day. She is survived by her precious sisters Sharlene (Frank) and Norma (Bob). She was a treasured aunt and wonderful friend to many.
Mona worked alongside her husband at their business Bonner's Body Shop and was an immense support to her husband as she balanced the books and did the day to day administrative duties.
She was a woman of great courage, faith, unconditional love and boundless energy. She was acquainted with grief over her lifetime starting with losing her precious daddy at 10 years old. But her faith in the Lord remained unshaken. She knew the friend she had in Jesus and was relentless in her faith and prayers.
This is how she would want to be remembered: As a simple woman who lived a simple life but had great big FAITH!
