Mose Leroy Ricketson, age 71 of Akron passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 with his family by his side. He was born on February 24, 1948, the son of Mose and Laura Bell {Thomas} Ricketson.
Mose was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Willie (Reba), James (Louise) and Gregory, and grandson Owen.
He leaves behind his love of 53 years, Sandy; children Timmy, Patricia, and Ron (Sandra); 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers Leo (Gerri), Cliff (Carol); sister Amy (Henry); sister-in-law Denise; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of friends.
Mose worked as a union carpenter through Local #639 throughout his career. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. Mose loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, 44305 on Sunday, January 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
