Muriel J. "Jan" Doolittle

Muriel J. "Jan" Doolittle, 79, went home with her Savior Jesus on July 11, 2009. She was born in Akron, OH on January 21, 1930 to the late Joseph and Thelma Ayers. Muriel was a life resident of Akron and had retired from Summit County Public Library. She had also managed the Kard and Kandle Hallmark Store. Muriel was a former member of Arlington Nazarene Church and had currently attended Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed bus trips, gospel concerts, and family get-togethers. She will be fondly remembered as a loving, supportive, family-oriented person. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph F. Ayers, Jr.; and her first husband William Sheckler. Survivors include her daughter Lynne Weihe; sisters Sharleen (Gary) Boley and Donna Kuznarsky; brother Terry (Debbie) Ayers; grandchildren Anastasia Weihe, Joy (Chris) McInally, Daniel Weihe, and Faith Weihe; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice of VNS. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N.
