Myra Jean Helmick

Myra "Stormy" Helmick passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023 at the age of 73. She was born to the late Joseph and Alberta Cotton on May 9, 1950 in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from East High School and went on to work for Acme for 44 faithful years. Myra married the love of her life, Morgan Helmick, on August 20, 1971 in Akron. She was known for her phenomenal cooking and parties. Myra could whip up a meal at any time of day and everyone will remember her for this. She spent years as a Sunday School teacher and found much joy in that. She was an avid gardener and her flowers were both inside and out. Her family will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Jerome Helmick.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 52 years, Morgan "Boo"; children, Morgan and Clint (Allison) Helmick; grandchildren, Julianne, Colton and Evelyn Helmick; brother, Joseph P. "Hotrod" (Cathy) Cotton, II; sister-in-law, Patty (Emery) Owen; nephew, Joe "Little Joe" Cotton; nieces, Julie (Darren) Smith, Natalie (Benjamin) Harris and Lindsey (Ronald) Haynes; many great-nieces and nephews; as well as other family members and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 10:30am-12:30pm with a funeral service to immediately follow. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
