Myron "Jerry" Thomas
Myron "Jerry" Thomas, 83, of Hartville, passed away August 1, 2007 at Akron City Hospital. He was born August 28, 1923 to the late Levi & Cleora (Sese) Thomas. Jerry retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service as a 1st Sergeant having served in WWII and two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Southeast Church of the Nazarene in Tallmadge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and Herb; and sisters, Bertha and Peggy. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; step-sons, Jim (Kim) and Bill (Mary); sisters, Barbara (Fred) Martin; brothers, Kenneth (Ruth), Darrell (Barbara), Lou (Honey Lou) and Butch (Linda); many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 711 Dunbar Rd., Tallmadge where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Art Magnuson officiating.
