Myrtis L. Bradbary
Myrtis L. Bradbary, 92, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on May 13th, 2009. She was born on October 15th, 1916 in Alabama to the late Floyd & Lorena (Sherman) Coffey. Myrtis was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she belonged to the "Friends Together Retiree Club". She worked for the W. Wright Hardware Co. for 15 years.
In addition to her parents, Myrtis was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George M. Bradbary in 1993; son, James V. Bradbary; daughter, Nelda L. Freas and son-in-law Francis B. Freas. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Bradbary; grandchildren whom she loved so deeply, Brian (Adrienne) Freas, Sheree (Charles) Nuske and Christopher (Victoria) Freas; great-grandchildren, Calvin, Lydia, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jesse, Jonah, Jayson and Jacob; sisters, Flora Craft and Willa Dean Mote.
Myrtis Bradbary touched the lives of everyone she met with her loving heart and giving nature. We were blessed to have had the privilege of knowing her. She was one of those rare people whose character and goodness truly reflected her faithful dedication to following her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was caring and compassionate with a gigantic heart of gold. She was a proud and loving Grandma who would take the time to sit and play on the floor with her great-grandchildren even if it meant compromising her comfort. She put others needs before her own to make sure everyone around her felt comfortable and happy. Myrtis was the ultimate Grandma and she will be deeply missed, but not forgotten.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:30-3:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00am with Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating.
