Myrtle L. Fowler

Myrtle L. Fowler, age 97 of Akron, Ohio, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Essex of Tallmadge Heath Care Center.
She was born on March 24, 1920, in Slocomb, Alabama, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rebecca Bass Smith.
Myrtle was a retired laborer from General Tire in Akron. She loved animals and flowers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Paulette Fowler; her daughter-in-law, Carol Fowler; her grandchildren, Whitney, Erin, Carolyn, Kimberly, Barb, and Charlie; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Paul S. Fowler; her son, Charles Fowler; and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017, where family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
Myrtle will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
