Nancy C. Rowles

Nancy C. Rowles, 73, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2013. She was born in Canton, OH on April 7, 1939 to the late Andrew and Dorothy Bartko. She graduated from Mercy Medical Center Nursing School. Nancy loved her chosen career as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Emergency and Sub-Specialty departments at Akron City Hospital for over 30 years. She continued her career at Novus Eye Clinic in Tallmadge until her passing. Nancy loved to travel with her husband and family. She also loved gardening, painting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ken, of 17 years; daughter, Becky (Mark) Chonko; son, Brian Ward; grandchildren, Kurt, Kyle, and Garrett; stepsons, Troy (Kim) Rowles and Gordon Rowles; step-grandchildren, Britanni, Brandon, and Trent; sister, Linda Caughy; brothers, Dean (Shelia) Bartko, Tim Bartko, and Ted Bartko; and many dear friends from her nursing career and personal life.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Palliative Care and ICU staff at Akron City Hospital.

Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
