Nancy Jean Harmon

Nancy Jean Harmon, age 80, of Tallmadge, went home to be with our Lord on Monday July 8, 2024 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. She was born in Akron on November 3, 1943 to the late William and Regina (Kane) McCarthy and graduated from St. Mary's High School. As a single mother of two, Nancy held many secretarial positions including at East Ohio Gas, Ohio Ballet and Summit County Treasurer. Nancy had compassion for all people, she loved deeply and believed strongly. She took great pride in her family and her achievement of 40 years sobriety.

She is survived by her children Gina Oakes and David Harmon; grandchildren Cindy Oakes, Janet Lane (Chris Ulrich); great-grandchildren AnthonyLane, David and Brian Dahlke, and Vincent Oakes; sister Maureen Baker; brother and sister-in-law Danny and Pat Justus; sister-in-law Rose McCarthy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by mother Regina Justus and step-father Sam Justus; father William McCarthy; brothers James McCarthy and Bill McCarthy; brother-in-law Jim Baker; and granddaughter Lisa Oakes.

Visitation will be Saturday July 20th from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home and services will begin at 1:00 PM.
