Nancy Parmer, 77, of Akron, passed away on October 27, 2024.
Nancy was born on August 11, 1947, to the late Ralph and Lutherine (Johnson) Posey in Akron, Ohio, where she grew up with her siblings, Rachelle Posey (deceased), Elaine Carter (deceased), Catherine Dennis, Patricia Cox, Germaine Christian (deceased), Richard Posey, and David Posey. She graduated from Central High School in 1965.
Nancy married Waymon Parmer Jr., and together they had seven children, Michael Waymon Parmer, Angela Parmer (deceased), Ralph Parmer, Alesa Parmer, Anita Parmer, Jonathan Parmer (deceased), and Sarah Parmer. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to nurturing her family and others.
As a homemaker, she created a warm and loving environment, always putting others before herself. As a midwife, she brought countless lives into the world, providing comfort and care during the most profound moments. At the Path of Life Christian School, she was a beloved art teacher who inspired creativity in her students.
Nancy was a member of the Church of God Evening Light on Thornton Street under the care of Pastor Dr. Keith Fuller. After the passing of her loving husband, Waymon Parmer Jr., Nancy re-entered the workforce at Sterling Jewelers in the Special-Order Department. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Nancy was cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Her memory is a testament to the power of love and compassion.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Posey; her mother, Lutherine Posey; her loving husband, Waymon Parmer Jr.; her son, Jonathon Parmer; and her daughter, Angela Parmer.
She is survived by her children, Michael, Ralph, Alesa, Anita, and Sarah; her siblings, Catherine, Patricia, Richard, and David; and her grandchildren, Trey Lewis, Treanna Lewis, Michael Parmer, Raven Parmer, Brayden Parmer, Jayce Parmer, Bryce Parmer, Ally Parmer, Kyleigh Parmer, Aaliyah Parmer, Monica Parmer, Ralph Parmer, Chase Parmer, Nyla Parmer, Xavier Croft, Skylar Croft and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Bath Manor Special Care Centre for their caring love and support during the time of Nancy’s stay at the facility.
