Neil Eric Hurst, "Cougar", age 52, of Akron, Ohio, died on June 6, 2020 at Akron General Hospital very unexpectedly.
He was born on June 23, 1967 in Akron, the son of the late Robert and June (nee Robison) Hurst.
Neil was a 1986 graduate of Ellet High School and he had also attended Mount Union College. He was a vault setter with Akron Burial Vault and most recently, Baumgardner Vault Company. He enjoyed bowling and socializing with his friends. He was obsessed with light houses.
Survivors include his sons, David A. Jenkins, with whom he lived, and Cayman Moore of Florida; his cousins, Ken Hurst and Jackie Romocean; his friends, whom he regarded as family, Stacy (fiance, Joseph Keifer) Mattei of Barberton, Sonya Hart (and her children, Brandon Hart and Emily Hart), Ira Boyce, Dave Whitt, Brian Riddle, William Henline and Christopher Henline.
There will not be any calling hours or services at this time and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
