Nellie M. Mckibben

August 16, 1950 — May 15, 2018

Nellie M. McKibben, 67, of Akron, passed away May 15, 2018 after a courageous battle with Huntington's disease. Nellie was born in Akron, Ohio on August 16, 1950 to the late Harry and Gladys Awalt. In her free time, Nellie loved her porch swing with her sweet tea and her dog Murphy.

She will be dearly missed by the love of life, her husband of 49 years, Thomas McKibben, Sr.; children, Thomas (Tammy) McKibben, Jr., and Debbie (Jason) Keplinger; grandchildren, Zachary, Amanda, Jason and Kayla, and great-grandson, Noah.

Family and friends will be received for visitation Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where the funeral service will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9 am. Nellie will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
