Nelson L. Balsinger

Nelson L. Balsinger, 74, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2018. A longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, he was born in Greene County, PA on March 2, 1944. Nelson was a true servant of the Lord, walking and living a life of Christ along with his wife, Alberta. For many years, he served as a Deacon, children's Sunday School teacher and Fellowship Director at BBC. Nelson loved to cook for others so he could feed them both body and soul. He was a loving husband, father and "Pap Pap," and will be greatly missed.

Nelson is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lida Balsinger; sister, Nora Hoyle; and brothers, George and Robert. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Alberta; children, Lida (Gregg) Thompson, Ronald (Jennifer) Balsinger, Matthew (Jenny) Moore; grandchildren, Samantha, Benjamin, Nelson, Kristen, Samuel, Sarah, Josh, Rebekah, Hannah, Seth, Zoe; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Paige; sisters, Mona (Charles) Black; and brother, William (Beverly) Balsinger.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 3-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 3 at Broadman Baptist Church, 350 E. Bath Rd., Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Cuyahoga Falls to follow.
