Neva R. Tate, 81, of Springfield Township, passed away March 17, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born April 29, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Thomas M. & Anna L. (Crawford) Buchanan. Neva worked at Akron General Medical Center as a Nurse's Aid. She was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. Neva was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Buchanan. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Denver Tate; daughters, Becky Anderson and Martha Lesar (Doug Keagy); sons, Tommy (Sandy) and Mark (Mary Jo Haslip); grandchildren, Bryan, Candy, Natalie, Lisa, Scot, Stephanie, Craig and Adam; great-grandchildren, Hanna, Jordan, Jaden, Destiny, Brady and Dominic; sister, Jeanie Smith and Betty Buchanan. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron and Friday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Baptist Church, 2330 E. Market St., Akron where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday with Rev. Matthew McDaniel and Rev. Don Davies officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
