Nicholas John Haag, "Nick", age 60, of Akron, Ohio, died on May 7, 2021 at his home.
He was born on March 25, 1961 in Akron, the son of the late Thomas Jacob and Ora "Sally" (nee Propst) Haag.
Nick was a graduate of East High School. He was a lover of animals, in particular, his late dog, Megan.
Early in his career, Nick worked at Akron City Hospital, as part of the hospitality staff. He later worked as an over the road truck driver and then a local driver for Crosset. His greatest joy was his family, spending time with friends and enjoying life.
Nick was confirmed in his faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, and he was an active member of Visitation of Mary Catholic Church in Akron.
Survivors include his loving sister, Linda (Mark) Trushel; his nieces and nephews, Kaitlin Trushel, Jessica Trushel, Robert Trushel and Matthew Haag; his great-niece and great-nephew, Emma and Caleb Haag; his sister-in-law, Kathy Haag; and his aunt, Lillian Brown.
Other than his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Paul Haag and James Jacob Haag; and his aunts and uncles.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, 55 Broad Street, Akron, Ohio 44305, where Father Dismas Byarugaba, A.J. will celebrate Nick's life.
Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
We will then process to Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron where Nick will be buried next to his parents and brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visitation of Mary Catholic Church in Nick's memory.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
