Nolan Davis Gooden Sr., 86, of Suffield Twp, passed away on November 17, 2018. He was born in Hemlock, West Virginia on October 15, 1932 to the late Stillman and Pauline Gooden. Nolan proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired as a truck driver with Sue-John. In his free time, he loved watching NASCAR and the Steelers and playing golf. He was a devoted member of Ellet Community Church of God and the VFW. In addition to his parents, Nolan was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Gooden; sister, Loretta Prokop; and great-granddaughter, Kenndle Christian. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley Gooden; children, Nolan "Skip" (Lori) Gooden Jr., Ronald (Sherry) Gooden, Thomas (Mary) Gooden, Deborah Gooden, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Bouchard, Karen (David) Parsons, Karla (Randy) Burroughs, David (Debbie) Lambert; sister, Macel (Harold) Peterson; grandchildren, David Finkbeiner, Stephenie Bouchard, Hiram Parsons, Rachael (Ryan) Christian, Rebecca Parsons, Jon Dennis, Jessica (Andrew) McEntyre; great-grandchildren, Derek Finkbeiner, Logan and Brooklyn Parsons, Bradyn and Aurora Christian; Gracie and Kinsley Parsons, Applyn and Ansel McEntyre; many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service at Ellet Communtiy Church of God, 2700 Priscilla Ave., Akron. Nolan will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna on Monday at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ellet Community Church of God, 2700 Priscilla Ave, Akron, OH 44312.
